If you are looking at these videos and thinking something is wrong here, you are correct, something is very wrong. The pixel aspect ratio is the culprit. Apparently, someone forgot to adjust the pixel aspect ratio when they were editing these videos. Here is a quick lesson: The pixel count in the HDV image is 1440x1080 (from the camera). The pixels themselves are non-square, proportioned at 1.33:1. Multiplying 1440x1.333 gives you 1920 for a 16:9 aspect ratio; HDV screen size of 1920x1080 and a pixel aspect ratio of 1:1. [src] HDTVs know to correct for these 'non-square' pixels, and display the image in its proper ratio, but a video editing program doesn't. And sometimes the video player on our computers don't either, so the video looks distorted a bit. The video has to be converted to the 16:9 ratio for normal viewing. I don't think the I Love you Mya editors got the memo on this.

So when you look at the videos, they have an off look to them because they are in an odd 4:3 aspect ratio, and the images need to basically be 'squished' into a 16:9 ratio to look normal. If you can get passed that, there is another issue: the videos are encoded with low bit-rates, creating very pixelated video, :( ugh. There are 3 video qualities to choose from: Best, good, and fast...but all are in this mixed up 4:3 format.
